Meet Rowan

Director of People and Values

As Director of People and Values, I’m responsible for all aspects of our strategic and operational people practice. I strive to ensure we have the right people and the supporting infrastructure in place to drive business success, ultimately supporting the delivery of our wider business strategy and growth plans.

Curious, commercial, empathetic and solution-focused, I’m passionate about supporting and empowering our team, with a strong focus on culture and engagement. I bring over 20 years of HR expertise, including almost 10 years with Stopgap (and a further 8 years earlier in my career).

I love shaping organisations from the inside out, so that business goals and people’s needs work hand in hand, creating workplaces where everyone feels valued, supported and able to thrive.

Top tip for candidates and/or clients

Come prepared for your interview - armed with examples and questions alike!

If I Were a Brand I’d Be

The Woodland Trust. I'm passionate about our planet and love nothing more than ambling through a woodland. Trees are our lifeline….they sequester huge amounts of carbon and are just a joy to be around!

Out of Office You’ll Find Me

Running around after my young son, which is generally out and about exploring nature! Enjoying the countryside and beaches (when I can get to them), and gradually deepening the shade of green of my fingers, focusing on fruit and veg in the garden….with enough time to then enjoy a nice glass of something as a sundowner!

Your favourite blog or resource on the Stopgap site

My favourite blog at the moment is the one on Neurodivergence and job hunting - helping neurodivergent candidates find a workplace to thrive. This is so critical for me as many individuals can face hidden barriers in the workplace - so finding inclusive environments can be the key to long-term success and wellbeing.
